Handmade at Kew, 6th-9th October 2016
Kew Gradens in London is world famous, so what better a place to hold an exhibition of contemporary craft.
There will be over 200 designer-makers at the show, from numerous disciplines including: ceramics, jewellery, fashion and textiles, glass, paper, furniture, metalwork, sculpture and interior accessories.
The event is held in a pavilion next to Kew Palace. Not only can you enjoy the exhibition, but you can also explore the whole of Kew Gardens.
I will be at the show on stand D4, so please come over and say 'Hello'.
The show runs from Thursday 6th until Sunday 9th, 10am to 6pm daily.
Full information about the show can be found on The Handmade in Britain website.

The Contemporary Craft Festival, 10th-12th June 2016
If you have never been to the show held each year in Bovey Tracey, then you are really missing something.
It has been voted number one attraction is the area a number of times, and once you have been you can understand why.
There is lots to see, take part in, watch, eat and drink. Oh yes, and I am there too, on stand C21.
I just hope we have blue skies like in the picture I took of the show's sign post last year.
The show runs from Friday 10th June until Sunday 12th June, 10am to 5pm daily.
Full information about the show can be found on The Contemporary Craft Festival website.

Handmade at Kew, 8th - 11th October 2015
This is the first time 'Handmade in Britain' team has woked with Kew Gardens in organising this event. It is very exciting to be able to take part in such a famous and prestigious location.
So for the past few months, I have been very busy getting ready for the show. Not only have I been making some new jewellery boxes, I have also made an Art-deco inspired display cabinet that will make it's debut at the show.
The show runs from Thursday 8th October until Sunday 11th October, 10am to 6pm daily.
Full information about the show can be found on the Handmade in Britain website.

The Contemporary Craft Festival, Bovey Tracey, Devon. 5th - 7th June 2015
This will be the first show of the year for me, and it is a show I have not exhibited at in the past.
It is always exciting doing a new show, seeing different exhibitors, different visitors and being somewhere new.
I am planning what to take with me to the show....it all depends on what I can fit in my car! But I will have both furniture and jewellery boxes.
It is a big show with lots to see and lots to do. Each day has various workshops and demonstrations running, from printmaking, to willow work, to letter cutting in stone, to embroidery. And of course you can come along and see my stand.
Tickets cost £8 for an adult day ticket, or £15 for a three day weekend ticket. Other ticket options are available (students, OAPs, children, family tickets, and those in receipt of benefits).
Full information about the show can be found on the Contemporary Craft Festival website.

Working on new ideas
I have been recently coming up with a new range and design of boxes. I am always thinking how I can take elements of some of my previous designs and incorporate them into something new.
So I have come up with the panel lidded box redux. I need to make a prototype first, but that will have to wait as I a just about to start work on a piece of furniture – a built in bookcase (yes, I do make furniture too – take a look at my bespoke furniture website if you haven’t seen it already).

Curved lid jewellery box made from English walnut
This is my latest box. It is made from English walnut that I recently purchased from Tylers Hardwoods timber merchant.
The box is a commission and made as a present for an 18th birthday.
You can read about this box and see more pictures in the gallery pages.
And a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everybody.
